The common energy audit methodology was developed during the project to determine the potential saving measures in SMEs of the agrifood sector. The aim of this document is to provide a common methodology for carrying out energy audits based on the European standard EN 16247, at an EU level.

The methodology is currently adapted to the partner countries of the AENEAM project (France, Italy, Spain and Poland), as well as the specificities of the SMEs of the MMA sectors relevant to the project (NACE codes C10, manufacture of food products; and C11, manufacture of beverages).

Included in the methodology is information on data collection, measuring equipment for field work, energy saving measures, renewable energy sources, procedure for assessment of energy saving measures, energy markets & supply contracts, and a model to draw up an energy audit report.
