The European AENEAM project, which aims to encourage agri-food SMEs to adopt recommended energy audit measures, offered a series of webinars to stakeholders in this sector to support their changes in energy-related practices.

The project developed a true “acceleration program” to help companies, their employees, and other agri-food stakeholders develop their knowledge and skills, all to improve their energy performance. Launched at the end of 2024, this webinar program has now concluded – and the results demonstrate a resounding success!

While the project aimed to launch 120 webinar sessions and attract 600 participants, the eight project partners collectively succeeded in attracting more than 4,700 participants! In addition to the success of these webinars, this “acceleration program” was shared on YouTube, and we reached a total of over 3,800 views across our webinars.

The webinar sessions covered several topics related to energy efficiency in the agri-food sector, including: energy and regulations, developing a purchasing strategy, decarbonization, Energy 4.0 management, implementing ISO 50001, financing strategies (public or private) for energy efficiency projects, and responsible communication.

As the figures show, there was a high turnout for all the webinars, and 84% of participants indicated that these webinars helped raise their awareness of the importance of adopting more sustainable practices for their business.

The massive outreach of the acceleration programme, and the positive feedback from participants, confirm the high demand for energy efficiency knowledge within the EU agri-food ecosystem and confirms our project’s multi-channel dissemination strategy.
